Mid-Michigan Autism Association (MMAA) is Committed to:

Uniting the local autism community; bringing together existing support groups and resources; creating opportunities for families affected by all forms of autism.

Promoting quality education for families on the spectrum.
Example: maintenance of web-based data bank of local resources.
Board goal for 2010/2011 is hosting a comprehensive local conference for families and professionals. |

We are committed to collaboration with other area organizations and non-profits.
Example: 2009/2010 collaboration with Community Mental Health, Lansing Parks and Recreation and the Oak Park YMCA, developing expanded summer programs for children with special needs.

Addressing the unique emotional needs of families on the spectrum.
Example: work with area support groups to enhance curriculum.

|
Educational outreach to the community.
Example: Board goal for 2010/2011, comprehensive education program for local law enforcement and first responder networks. |

Developing a sustainable, responsible, efficient non-profit.
Example: obtained 501c3 status 8/2009.
Recruitment of two working teams of volunteers, Camp Star and Parent Support Group Leaders. |
